We are committed to protecting our environment to ensure a sustainable future for our children and through continuous improvement we strive to be better with tomorrow than we are today.

Our service actively participates in caring for the environment and promotes sustainable practices through educating and working with the children, families and wider community.

Learning about sustainability with everyday practice even Toddlers can begin by watching adults model these behaviours. They may learn through songs or rhymes as educators verbalise what they are doing. Children over three can begin to reason why practices are needed and to understand the impact that their actions have on the planet.

We participate in gardening in our outdoor play space, we have a worm farm that all rooms take in turn to care for, lights and fans are turned off when not in use so that children learn electricity sustainability. We have embedded reducing, reusing, and recycling into our daily program with the children.

Playschool Kindergarten recognises the diversity of cultures in Australia and provides opportunities for all children to learn and respect in multiple ways of such cultures. We demonstrate this each day as we celebrate the benefits of diversity within our centre and community from input and partnership we have with families and celebrating our local area using our local language of the Yugambeh speaking people.
